The association between patients' preferred treatment after the use of a patient decision aid and their choice of eventual treatment

The dataset contains data from a single-centre retrospective study of adults with gallstones or inguinal hernia who used an online patient decision aid between 2015 and 2018. The decision aid assessed treatment preferences, certainty, disease burden, and personal values regarding surgery versus watchful waiting. Patient characteristics and eventual treatment choices were obtained from hospital records. The study examined the agreement between patients’ preferred and eventual treatment.
