All-dielectric Metaphotonics for Advanced THz Control of Spins

van Gerven, L.

Nearly single-cycle terahertz (THz) pulses are known for enabling ultrafast and energy-efficient spin control in magnetic materials. Recently, all-dielectric metasurfaces have emerged as a low-loss way to enhance and manipulate the interaction between light and spins. This work introduces a novel dielectric metasurface designed for advanced THz control of spins in an iron garnet ferrimagnetic film. By structuring a nonmagnetic substrate, the THz field can be engineered to produce out-of-plane magnetic components, enabling full three-dimensional spin torque control. Methods: THz pump-optical probe, simmulations for waveguides, all-optical pump-probe. Data types: Measured data (.opju file) Figures in the paper (.png) Please read READMEfirst.txt first
