PhD thesis: On the properties of single magnetic impurities on super- and semiconducting surfaces (2025)

van Mullekom, N.P.E.

This data collection contains all the raw data and code to plot the figures illustrated in the result chapters of this thesis. In general, the thesis explores the boundaries of the description of mangetic impurities when they interact with a non-trivial surface such as a super- or a semiconductor. In the collection, chapter 4 aka Characterization of a new platform to study Yu-Shiba-Rusinov excitations in magnetic field contains data (topography, spectroscopy) regarding all experiments on the MnPc molecules and superconducting substrate at zero magnetic field. Chapter 5, aka Magnetic field dependence of Yu-Shiba-Rusinov excitations and Kondo resonance of MnPc, contains data (spectroscopy) regarding all magnetic field dependent experiments on the substrate and the MnPc molecules. Chapter 6, aka A zero-bandwith YSR model for high-spins in magnetic field, contains simulated results and experimental data (spectroscopy) to compare to. Finally, Chapter 7, aka Investigating the spin character of individual Fe atoms on InSb(110), combines experimental data (topography and spectroscopy) and simulated results to compare and gain insight into the magnetic nature of the Fe atom on the semiconducting surface.
