This repository contains stimuli and data collected during a study investigating the effects of Spanish pronouns of address on readers' reports of immersion. 65 Spanish subjects were recruited and tested in the University of Extremadura (Spain). Participants read two short fictional stories, and after reading each of them, they filled out a questionnaire measuring their experienced immersion. The questionnaire addressed participants either formally (usted) or informally (tú). The analysis showed that being addressed with a formal usted (vs. tú) resulted in higher immersion scores. All materials shown to participants can be found here. The data obtained from participants are scores (0-100) on several scales measuring immersion, as well as total reading times per story and scores to comprehension questions. Additionally, demographic and reading habits information were collected.
