This collection contains the analytical datasets as reported in the manuscript “Longitudinal examination of loneliness and smoking in adolescents and young adults: A multi-dataset study”. In total, five datasets were used in this manuscript. Three datasets included samples of adolescents: sample 1 utilizing data of the Kandinsky Longitudinal Study (KLS), sample 2 utilizing data of the G(F)OOD together (GFT) study, and sample 3 utilizing data of the Family & Health (F&H) study. Two datasets included samples of university students: sample 4 utilizing data of the Healthy Student Life (HSL) study, and sample 5 utilizing data of the al-RISCO lifestyle project (al-RISCO). All studies focused on assessing health behaviours and well-being of their participants (adolescents or university students in the Netherlands) by utilizing surveys. The number of utilizing waves varies per sample. For KLS data of four survey waves was used for three cohorts of adolescents, for GFT and F&H five survey waves were used. For both HSL and al-RISCO, three survey waves were used. For more information on all datasets included in this collection, please see the readme file and the codebooks. The corresponding analytical codes (for all samples) are publicly available through the Open Science Framework (https://osf.io/4sk5h/).
