This collection contains the analytical datasets as reported in the manuscript “Current Nicotine Use and the Development of Depressive Symptoms Across Adolescence and Adulthood: A Multi-Dataset Study Exploring Moderation Effects of Body Mass Index and Sex”. In total, three datasets were used in this manuscript: 1) adolescents sample using data of the Mental Health and Health Habits (MHHH) study, 2) young adults sample using data of the Healthy Student Life (HSL) study, and 3) adults sample using data of the G(F)OOD together (GFT) study. These three studies all focused on assessing health behaviours and well-being of their participants (adolescents, young adults or adults in the Netherlands) by utilizing surveys. For this manuscript, the first three survey waves of all three datasets were utilized: Wave 1, Wave 2 and Wave 3. All datasets contain the cleaned variables as used in the analyses, after processing steps were performed (for more information, see the codebook and readme file). The corresponding analytical codes (for all samples) are publicly available through the Open Science Framework (https://osf.io/4sk5h/).
