This is an fMRI dataset that was collected in human participants while we manipulated the predictability of visual stimuli in the periphery. Participants were presented with either predictable or non-predictable visual stimuli while they performed three tasks that differently engaged cognitive resources. We analyzed the BOLD response of voxels in early visual cortex (V1-V3) to investigate whether the effect of expectation on sensory processing was modulated by task set. We also performed a whole-brain analysis. A full account of the paradigm and analyses can be found in the file 'Materials and Methods'.
